5 Ways to Celebrate Love and Self this Valentine’s Day

Updated: Feb 15, 2021

All love is not found in a relationship. Your best love must come from self. Here are 5 ways to celebrate love and yourself this Valentine's Day.

1. Perform a Random Act of Kindness

This one is my favorite. Doing something positive for someone else is a great way to just feel good and bring a smile to others. Whatever that act is is definitely your business (In my best Tabitha Brown voice). It can be a grand gesture or honestly a note of encouragement but believe me it is a great authentic way to feel and spread the love on Valentine’s Day.

2. Sleep. You Deserve it

It is a weird one to go with but it helps. We live in a world where the work never stops and the To-Do list is always growing so we are programmed to keep going like the energizer battery. It is not realistic to run yourself ragged. So on this day take a minute to breath, relax, get comfortable and treat yourself to some rest. There are so many benefits to allowing your body to recharge so let it.

3.Treat ‘Yo Self

Whether it's a professional spa experience or an at-home setup, do you booboo. Treat yourself to some self pampering. Draw a bubble bath, do a cleansing mud mask, make an appointment for that massage you have been putting off. Do the things for yourself that you may have been putting off because you have been too busy. You deserve to be taken care of. If you can do it for yourself then if/when you are ready you know what you would like to experience with a partner.

4. Get Dressed

Whether that outfit is your favorite ‘freakum dress,’ a comfy pair of pjs, a matching bra and panty combo or just your birthday suit, ROCK IT. Put on an ensemble that really makes you feel like ‘THAT BITCH,’ do your make-up if that's what you need to complete the look and revel in your own awesomeness.

5. Mirror Time

Now that you are all feeling the good vibes, well rested, pampered, dressed, and ready to go, stand in front of a mirror and celebrate all that you are. It's hard for a lot of us to accept compliments because we are not conditioned to hear them often. So start that conditioning now. On this day of love tell yourself all the things you love about you. I’ll give you a sneak peak into what I tell myself.

‘You Are Worthy. Of love, kindness, respect, honesty, and consistency.”
